Showka Dam 2 is the UAE’s oldest MTB event location, having hosted events including the Hot6, Showka XCE, Turn & Burn XCTT over the last 10 years.
The UAE National MTB Challenge is back for the third year with a massive series of 8 races all over the UAE! As before the first event is coming to Showka! A real mountain biker’s course of 2.5km per lap, with singletrack, rocky climbs, fast technical descents and wadi crossings make for one of the fastest courses in the country!
Traditionally the first race of the season, again with UAE Cycle Federation points counting toward and overall series winner for Men u40, Women u40, Men 40+, Women 40+ and Junior Boys & Girls 14-18years.
Seperate categories for XC, Gravel and Electric-MTB are available. Points will be awarded as per the bike you are on.
Each rider starts at 30 second gaps to set their time over 3 laps of the 2.5km course. Electronic timing courtesy of SuperSports.

You will need UAE Cycle Federation to enter MTB events for 2022/23 season. This can be bought at UAECF.ae. Entries on the line are not possible so please make sure you register entry on Premier Online to set a place. You will not be able to race without a licence, even if you entered the event.

• Do I need to be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 Vaccine to participate?

  Riders aged 18 years and above will be required to present proof of any vaccine recognized by their national government or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.

• How do I find race my race number?

  Race Numbers will be given upon sign on, starts from 6am to 7am at the start line.

• Do I need UAECF Licence to compete?

  Yes. UAECF Licence is needed. You must already have a license before you attend. Please arrange on www.uaecf.ae beforehand.
  
  Day race licenses are available when entering Premier Online if you don't have an annual race license.

• How many laps are there for each category?

  3 laps for Adults
  2 laps for Juniors

• What are the race timings?

  Course will be open from 6am for pre-ride. First rider off at 7am.
  
  Prizes will be awarded for overall series winners after final event.

• What is the level of difficulty of the course?

  INTERMEDIATE/BLUE. Course is open for practice one hour before start. Course map below. 1/2 SINGLETRACK, 1/2 DOUBLETRACK, 2 wadi crossings, 4 climbs (1 exposed rock, 2 singletrack, 1 doubletrack), 2.5km per lap expect 8-15 minutes per lap depending on ability.
