Sean and Sanu (see FAQs for more detailed info on your hosts) will be leading a hike around the fantastic Stairway to Heaven route in Ras al Khaimah.

This is an opportunity to spend time with Sean and Sanu both during the hike and around the campfire during the evening before the hike.

The Stairway to Heaven hike is strenuous but the intention is for a leisurely walk with plenty of time.

If you have any doubt about your ability to complete the hike, please contact the organizers before signing up.

• By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

  On Friday 4.00 pm

• What are the start time(s) of the event?

  On the Friday before the event we will meet at 4.00pm to setup up tents and the campsite.
  
  On the Saturday morning the hike will start early at 06.00am and should take between 10 - 14 hours.

• More information about Sanu and Sean:

  In October 2019, Sanu Sherpa from the Makalu region of the Himalaya became only the 3rd Nepali in history to summit all of the mountains above 8000m in the world. There are 14 of them.
  
  Sean James has led 4 Everest expeditions to the summit and a total of 13 expeditions to mountains over 8000m.
  
  Sean and Sanu have worked together in Nepal and Pakistan many times before and now Sanu is coming to the UAE.

• Registration / Participation Fee:

  The cost of taking part in the hike is to cover the flight and visa costs for Sanu to come to the UAE.

• Are places limited?

  The number of participants is limited to 15 to allow close interaction and questions.

• Where do I go for the event?

• What are my options for parking?

  Plenty of parking at the location although we will attempt to minimise our impact on this increasingly busy area and leave it in a better condition than we found it.

• Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

  Light refreshments will be provided in the evening and during the hike but it is expected that you bring sufficient drinks and food to sustain yourself.
  
  You will also need sturdy walking shoes, a rucksack and appropriate clothing for the weather.
  
  The organisers will be carrying medical supplies and support equipment.

• What estimated time will the event finish?

  We are expected to finish late afternoon / early evening on the Saturday.
