The Dubai Women’s Cycling Challenge for women, welcomes participants of all abilities, from elite experienced riders to recreational cyclists and novices.
It is dedicated to promoting health and wellness as well as women’s cycling for women.

The event supports Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve’s environmental commitment as one of the world’s leading eco desert sports and tourism destinations and wildlife conservation preserves.

  • What race gear should I bring to the event?

    Pay attention to the hot weather and sun. Dress, hydrate, and protect yourself from the sun appropriately.
    The following are essentials:

    Bike
    Helmet
    Race apparel (jersey, shorts/bibs, helmet)
    Change of clothes for after race
    Shoes (clipless or non-clipless)
    Eye protection / sunglasses
    Proof of race entry
    Hydration and nutrition (before, during, and after race)
    Tool kit, including spare part essentials such as tubes, and a pump
    Plastic bags for wet clothing, and towels to dry off with or change of clothes

    Make sure your equipment is up to the race or ride is a very important and often one of the more overlooked areas for new riders. The last thing you want is to have a mechanical issue during the event due to something that could’ve been easily spotted and fixed.

    It’s a good idea to have a bike shop or mechanic to carry out a check on your bike at least a week before the event. Be sure to check everything from your helmet to the cleats on your shoes to ensure everything is in good co

  • What are my options for parking?

    There is plenty of parking space in Last Exit and open area near the event registration site.
    Wheelchair access is available at the Last Exit parking area.

  • Race Pack / Number collection details?

  • Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

    The route will have checkpoints every 10 km depending on the terrain and will offer hydration and medical assistance.
    There will be a medical team at the Riders Village as well as first aid and safety officers at each check point as well as first responders available along the route. The health and safety of the participants is paramount.

    All participants will be required to agree to the terms and conditions of the Dubai Women's Cycling Challenge in order to participate.
    Waivers must be agreed online to complete the registration process.
    There will be NO registrations on the race day.
    No refunds for participants who do not take part in the event for whatever reason.
    Transfer of race entries to another party is STRICTLY prohibited.

  • What are the rules and regulations?

    Riders must enter their respective age category.
    No Helmet, No Ride.
    Every Rider requires a bib number and must be pre- registered.
    Every rider must at all times display her race number legibly and ensure it is pinned on to the shirt back.
    Every rider must bring hydration and sun protection.
    Every rider must wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
    Riders who do not start on their respective flag-off time, may be disqualified and not be allowed onto the course.
    Every rider must ride carefully and with due regard to the safety of other cyclists.
    Riders must not ride dangerously or negligently.
    Riders must permit faster riders to overtake without obstructing.
    Riders must not use mobile music devices while riding or use hand held cameras or telephones.
    Every rider must immediately comply with the instructions of a marshal or member of the organizing team.
    Riders must complete the entire distance of the race and the responsibility for following the official course lies with the rider.

    Starting at Last Exit Al Qudra, the challenge will take participants through the stunning Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve on a world class, made for the purpose cycle track.

  • Are there safety requirements for riders?

    Regulation helmets must be worn. No helmet, no ride
    Every Rider requires a bib number and be registered
    Every rider must at all times display her race number legibly and ensure it is pinned on to the shirt back
    Every rider must ride carefully and with due regard to the safety of other cyclists
    Every rider must immediately comply with the instructions of a marshal or member of the organizing team
    Every rider must bring hydration and sun protection. Riders should drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the event

    Undertake a proper training regime to prepare for the Event
    All riders are recommended to have their own personal accident or health insurance

  • If I don’t have a bike, can I use a rental and where can I hire from? What kind of bikes is allowed?

    If you don’t own a bike, you may use a rental. Rental bikes can be hired from a number of outlets in Dubai and the UAE.
    Bikes may also be hired with helmets (which are compulsory whilst taking part in the Dubai women’s Cycling Challenge).

    Any road worthy bike may be used for the Dubai women’s Cycling Challenge.
    However, TT bikes are not permitted.

  • What are the prizes for this event?

    Prizes will be awarded for top three rankings in each age category. There will be uniquely designed trophies for rankings.

  • Where will the Riders Village be situated?

    The Riders Village situated at the Last Exit in Al Qudra, offers fun and refreshments for the whole family, including medical screening and food outlets.

  • What are the course's highlights?

    The Dubai Women’s Cycling Challenge takes riders through the beautiful Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve on its world class cycle track.
    Participants can enjoy the scenery of one of the most beautiful desert terrains in the world, taking in the landscape and protected wildlife.
