The next edition of The Women’s Cycling Challenge presented by DP World will be held on 8th October on the Al Qudra Cycle Track in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
This highly popular event is organized under the umbrella of Dubai Women Sports Committee, and is in association with the UAE Cycling Federation.
The Women’s Cycling Challenge is for women of all cycling abilities, from elite experienced riders to recreational cyclists and novices.
It’s a fun as well as competitive event with the route taking riders through the beautiful Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve on its world class cycle track.
Participants will enjoy the beautiful desert landscape passing with a chance of spotting rare and protected wildlife.
The event is dedicated to promoting female health and wellness as well as promoting the sport of female cycling.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 rankings in each race category and all participants will receive finisher medals.
The health and safety of all participants, spectators, visitors, event management and crew is our highest priority.
Regarding the COVID 19 pandemic, we will follow the guidelines and protocols stipulated by the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention and Dubai Health Authority to ensure that every precautionary measure is implemented and adhered to in line with the UAE Government regulations.
Adherence to the 2 metre social distancing rules, regularly sanitizing and wearing masks at all times (unless engaged in a sports activity), will be strictly enforced.

  • Where do I go for the event?

    The Riders Village situated at the Last Exit in Al Qudra

  • Race Pack / Number collection details?

    All successfully registered participants will receive their race pack on the event day during registration.

  • Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

    The route will have checkpoints every 10 km and will offer hydration and medical assistance.
    There will be a medical team at the Riders Village as well as first aid and safety officers at each check point as well as first responders available along the route. The health and safety of the participants is paramount.

  • What estimated time will the event finish?

  • Where can I find the results to the event?

    Official results for The Women’s Cycling Challenge 2021 will be posted on the event website and social media platforms.

  • What race gear should I bring to the event?

    Pay attention to the hot weather and sun. Dress, hydrate, and protect yourself from the sun appropriately.
    The following are essentials:

    Race apparel (jersey, shorts/bibs, helmet)
    Change of clothes for after race
    Shoes (clipless or non-clipless)
    Eye protection / sunglasses
    Proof of race entry
    Hydration and nutrition (before, during, and after race)
    Tool kit, including spare part essentials such as tubes, and a pump
    Plastic bags for wet clothing, and towels to dry off with or change of clothes

    Make sure your equipment is up to the race or ride is a very important and often one of the more overlooked areas for new riders. The last thing you want is to have a mechanical issue during the event due to something that could’ve been easily spotted and fixed.

    It’s a good idea to have a bike shop or mechanic to carry out a check on your bike at least a week before the event. Be sure to check everything from your helmet to the cleats on your shoes to ensure everything is in good co
