How should I choose my category?

5O KM ULTRAMARATHON: Participant of any citizenship aged over 18 years who accepts the race rules and provides a medical certificate attesting to their medical fitness to participate in a race.

10 KM & 5 KM RACES: Eligible participants must be aged 15 years and over. Participants below 18 years of age, must obtain parent’s/guardian’s consent to enter.

Where do I go for the event?

What are my options for parking?

There is plenty of parking space in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve (Last Exit and open area near the event registration site at the Dune Platform).
Wheelchair access is available at the Dune Platform parking area.

Where can I find the results to the event?

Official results for Al Marmoom Ultramarathon 50 km will be posted on the event website: www.ultramarathon.ae and social media platforms.
What is the event route and elevation?

The run elevation is at sea level. The terrain is a mix of different levels of sand dunes and hard sand tracks (no mountain terrain). The route is on varying surfaces, offering runners different challenges, across flat surfaces and soft moving sand.

Each route has been specifically designed to offer runners a mix of desert terrain to enhance the desert and race experience taking into account the distance that needs to be covered. All routes are a combination of sand dunes and hard sand tracks and scrub offering runners different challenges, across flat surfaces and rolling dunes. The heights of dunes will vary from challengingly high to ridges and troughs.
Will there be any support stations and where are they located?

Al Marmoom Ultramarathon 50 km will have checkpoints every 8-10 km depending on the terrain and will offer hydration, refreshments, and medical assistance.
10 km and 5 km races will have water stations every 2 km along the route.

*Runners will need to bring their own re-usable, refillable water bottles

In the event of an emergency:
Dubai Police and Dubai Ambulance will be at the event.
Get the attention of Al Marmoom Ultramarathon organizers and marshals located along the route and the start-finish zone.

50 km ultramarathon to be completed in 10 hours
10 km race to be completed in 2 hours
5 km race to be completed in 1 hour 30 minutes

Will there be a spectator area? What are the spectator rules?

There will be designated areas for spectators to view the start and finish as well as along Al Marmoom 50 Km ultramarathon, 10 km and 5 km routes

Rules:
Do not obstruct or get in the way of the runners – for your safety and theirs.
Do not alter the course by moving barriers, poles in an effort to get closer to the runners or to take photographs.
Please be supportive and help make this a memorable day for our desert and ultrarunning community.
Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve is a protected area, please observe all regulations.
No littering
